Would you like a Star Bush for your garden?

Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater nursery are currently growing stock for local residents to plant in their gardens. All going well, plants will be available in Autumn and will cost $5 each. All proceeds will go to preservation of the Star Bush. We will announce here when the plants are ready for those of you who wish to purchase one and they may also be available at the Emerald Market.

  1. We would like 2 Star plants for our farm in Toomuc Valley Rd Pakenham if you think they would grow. We have re vegetated quite a lot of the area near the Toomuc Creek but would need advice about suitable location. We are members of Toomuc Landcare.

    • Hi Kate

No problems. We will put you on the list! We are planning on handing the plants out at the Emerald market in October and the information night at the Emerald library on 23rd October. We can provide suggestions to you about where to plant but if you are able to make it to the info night this would be ideal as you can learn more there.

  2. Hi Naomi,
Kristi and I are looking to plant out our potted Starbush but can’t find any information on the care, feeding or propogation of them. Do you know if I can find this online at all? Thanks, Dean

    • Hi Dean & Kristi

I will email you some information and try to upload some care sheets to the website. I would say to wait until the weather is a little warmer so the roots have a chance to take and you minimise the risk of shock.
